The Men’s Prayer Breakfast Group met in the Shoreline Room at the Plains from 8AM to 9 AM on the First and Third Sunday morning of each month in 2010, sharing in breakfast, fellowship, devotion, study, prayer and planning of service and mission projects for our community. Our wives joined us on December 19th for a Christmas Breakfast and they definitely added to the atmosphere and beauty of our Christmas joy.
We continue to provide monthly food for the Salvation Army Food Pantry, $100.00 in May and $50.00 a month Sept. through Dec. We also provided approximately $150.00 a month Jan through Aug. and increased it to $200.00 per month Sept through Dec for their meat food program. $200.00 was also given to The Helping Hands in Jan of 2010. . These funds were generated by interest from the Designated Wollman Mission Fund, Elks Club Pancake Feed and the monthly Cents- Ability Offering (also known as Holy Buckets Sunday).
The Salvation Army Food Basket Radio Program, KOKK Angel Star, Salvation Army Angel Tree, Salvation Army Mitten Tree, Prison Fellowship Ministry Angel Tree and Huron Hospital Hospice were all supported through the individual offerings from the men of our group. In addition we supported the Senior High Youth Program with a $75.00 donation. We are blessed with the men of our group who share their time, talents, and resources so we may serve our Lord through these mission efforts.
The men of First United Methodist Church hosted the Men’s Ecumenical Prayer Breakfast on March 6th at their church. The turnout was fair and we hope for an even better turnout from men of our church along with men from other congregations in the Huron Community in 2011.
We give thanks to God for His many blessings and look forward to serving Him and our Lord Jesus Christ in 2011. It would bless us tremendously if more men would come to join us in Fellowship and service. Thank you and God’s Blessings to all of you!
