If you have any feedback on how we can make our new website better please do contact us and we would like to hear from you.

The Presbyterian Women’s Association consists of two circles that meet the second Thursday of the month from September through May.  Circle 1 meets at 1:30 pm in members’ homes or in Fellowship Hall and once a year at Sunquest Village.  Circle 5&6 meets at 9:30 am in Fellowship Hall.  The Coordinating Team meets at 9:00 am on the first Thursday of the month in Fellowship Hall.

Three PW Gatherings were held during the year and consisted of both circles meeting as one group.  Business was conducted, programs and devotions were enjoyed, and the Thank Offering, Birthday Offering, Mission projects, and Hunger Fund were dedicated.  A memorial service was also held to remember those members who passed away during the year.

PW supported the following mission projects:  Mission of the Church Worldwide--$2725.00; PW Presbytery/Synod--$375.00.  We  provided funds for Sunday School treats, camp scholarships, Logos, office supplies, postage for the shoe box project and for Boost the Troops project, Salvation Army, both Family Violence Centers and Rahab’s Rope.  Each Circle supported various projects and activities— disaster assistance kits, school kits, health kits and personal care kits for the Red Cross.  Circle 5&6 made calendars for the shut-in members of our church and the residents of the Violet Tschetter Memorial Home and hosted a Christmas party there.  With memorial money for mission given in Kay Engberg’s memory and with excess PW funds, money was given to the Red Cross, Heifer Project International, Back Pack Program, Democratic Republic of the Congo palm oil presses, Bicycle project, and to the Building & Grounds Committee for church repairs.  Presbyterian Women participate in World Day of Prayer, May Friendship Day, World Community Day, and Fellowship of the Least Coin.

Ted Decker’s family purchased two refrigerators for the kitchen, and with memorial money given in honor of Ted Decker and Edna Neuharth we purchased a new freezer.

PW hosted a Lenten Soup Supper, coordinated the Sunday coffee and cold drink for nine months, served lunches at funerals and cleaned the kitchen.  A Mother’s Day Tea was held in May and we were entertained by Carole Skinner, a national whistling champion.

Presbytery of South Dakota Presbyterian Women Gathering was held on May 2 at Miller, SD and was attended by eight ladies from Huron.

The success of the Spring Salad Luncheon held in April and the Fall Bazaar/Luncheon held in September plus the RADA sales enabled us to fulfill our mission commitments.  The wonderful cooperation, participation, donations of food and money by everyone made this possible.  Thank you!

All women of First Presbyterian Church are invited and encouraged to join a circle and share in Christian fellowship.
